About this listen
Everyone said she was the prettiest flower girl. But now her dress lies on the floor. It’s wet and torn, her shoes are lost. "Where did you go?" her daddy asks. She shakes her head. All she can remember are the red rose petals scattering like drops of blood spilling to the ground.
When Christine Lewis was a little girl, she witnessed something terrible at a wedding and buried it so deep in her memory, she managed to forget it ever happened.
Jessica Newman was a baby when she and her father came to live in an isolated cottage on the Irish island of Cullain with Margaret - the woman who loved Jessica as if she was her own. Until the day Jessica and her father left, and she never saw Margaret again.
Years later, Christine and Jessica cross paths working at the advertising agency Christine runs with her husband. These two women are about to uncover the dark secrets of their own traumatic pasts. But they have no idea that they are connected.
The shocking truth of what happened at the wedding all those years ago, and what became of Margaret, is going to blow their lives apart in more ways than each of them could ever have imagined....
Fans of Lisa Jewell, Gillian Flynn, and Sally Hepworth will be gripped by After the Wedding.

Good Story
I enjoyed the book but it got a bit too complicated for me, real coincidences do happen like that all the time, I am sure of that, was not quite the ending I expected. Well written & narrated

Totally gripping from beginning to end
I couldn’t stop listening to thus book as I desperately wanted to know how the study unfolded. Loved the narration with no attempt to put on gender related voices. I will get listening to another from this author

Confusing narration
This is a highly confusing novel which requires 2 female narrators. The first part is excellent and I was caught up in the unfolding drama - that is until the narration changes to a different character, goes back in time and then forwards to the present day. This was when both female protagonists, read by one narrator, became confused and baffling. I had no idea just who was passenger or driver in the narrative and became utterly confused. Not long before I was losing interest and just longing for the denoument so I could get my head straight. Such a shame but perhaps easier to read than listen.

Difficult to follow Naration
Overall I was intrigued by the story, but it needed more narrators to make the story clearer. It was very difficult to know who was talking and whether it was in the past or present. It felt as if the story could have been told quicker as it was quite a slow book
