Adults who have been undiagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often face a daily struggle but remain unaware there is a way to make life better.

This audiobook explains the process of autism diagnosis, answering the questions that follow:

  • What is autism spectrum disorder (ASD)?
  • What does an ASD assessment entail?
  • Should I share this with my friends and family?
  • What do I do once I'm diagnosed?
  • What's the best way to cope with the emotional impact of the diagnosis?
  • And much more.

All the above questions are answered in this audiobook through a former patient's personal account after being diagnosed with autism. Containing humorous anecdotes and stories, this audiobook provides an alternative perspective of looking at autism spectrum disorder.

Here's what you're going to discover in this audiobook:

  • Practical strategies to reduce stress and maximize progress.
  • Tactics to assess everyday thoughts and patterns that are disruptive.
  • Road maps and mind-sets to navigate daily life.
  • Strategies for improving communication, social skills, and making friends.

confused.

I was confused, it a book giving guidance for autism and is mainly about the man who write it but a female reads the book. Other than that it was okay.

The start is surprisingly patronising

The book ends better than it starts. But overall there's a lot about stigma of autism which I have been blessed to not expense, so it felt irrelevant to me. The author repeatedly explains how supportive her parents were and how she overcame her challenges using neuroplasticity. Maybe it is helpful for someone.

Excellent.

I am currently referred for diagnosis of ASD (in my forties), this book has been wonderful. Listening to this has made me reframe my autistic traits in a positive light. I am finding my way on my path to peace. Thank you Una Cuthbert.

Offensive

Tells you we all have to be “better than we are” and that people on the spectrum needs to “bend” their brains to work properly. Medically inaccurate and v offensive
