Summary
Personal assistant Dominic is a consummate professional. Funny then that he harbors such unprofessional feelings toward Tristan Maxwell, the CEO of the company. No, not in that way. The man may be the walking epitome of gorgeousness dressed up in a designer suit. But, Dominic's immune. Unlike most of the workforce, he can see through the pretty facade to the arrogant, self-entitled asshole below. It's lucky then that the man's easy enough to avoid.
Disaster strikes when Dominic finds himself having to work in close proximity as Tristan's P.A. The man is infuriatingly unflappable, infuriatingly good-humored, and infuriatingly unorthodox. In short, just infuriating. A late-night rescue leading to a drunken pass only complicates matters further, especially with the discovery that Tristan is both straight and engaged.
Hatred turns to tolerance, tolerance to friendship, and friendship to mutual passion. One thing's for sure, if Tristan sets his sights on Dominic, there's no way Dominic has the necessary armor or willpower to keep a force of nature like Tristan at bay for long, no matter how unprofessional a relationship with the boss might be. He may just have to revise everything he previously thought and believed in for a chance at love.

Thoroughly amusing British office romcom!
Tristan Maxwell may be gorgeous, pleasant and a successful CEO, but Dominic knows better and thanks his lucky stars he’s not Tristan’s PA. That is, until Tristan’s PA is hospitalised and Tristan specifically requests Dominic as temporary replacement. Confusingly for Dominic, his best efforts to be rude and surly are met with unfailing thoughtfulness and respect, and when he tries to find temps to replace himself, none of them seem to be the person Tristan is looking for. I loved this quintessentially British office romcom - there were plenty of laughs and snark and two great leads! Tristan isn’t what you’d expect of a CEO. Rather than the stereotypical masterful or commanding boss, he’s warm, genial, and reasonable without an aggressive bone in his body. Dominic is also an amusing contradiction. He’s witty and sharp, organised and good at his job, yet surprisingly clueless about Tristan’s or other’s feelings for him. He has a habit of making wrong assumptions and being stubbornly unwilling to communicate to clear up his misunderstandings. Bear with him, that’s his journey. He gets there in the end and he’s totally worth it. Audio narrator Jake Whalley was everything - his voicing and comedic timing were superb, I hope to hear a lot more from him.

Very funny audiobook
Loved the snark and the humourous situations.
The narrator had great fun with this. He’s very versatile. (In this audiobook one of the voices he uses sounds like Joe Lycett. Very funny delivery.)

Lovely rom-com!
H. L. Day has the amazing talent of writing in many different genres, and doing so with amazing talent. From this author I’ve read post-apocalyptic, paranormal and contemporary, and this rom-com did not disappoint at all! A Temporary situation is funny, sweet and super engaging, with two adorable characters I fell in love with. I especially loved Tristan, this man who is both an extremely focused and successful CEO and can be a complete hairbrained, spider phobic, food-obsessed mess in private. Dominic stands no chance at not falling head over heels in love with him, despite all his (hilarious) attempts at keeping his enticing boss at arm’s length! But Tristan is a CEO for a reason, and is not easily dissuades when he sets his eyes, and his heart on something he wants!
A great book, a great performance from Jake Whalley… I definitely want more!

snarky and funny romance.
I really enjoyed this wonderfully snarky romance. Dominic and Tristan were the perfect foil for one another. I loved Dominic's sassiness, and his inability to phase the affable Tristan was hilarious. I've not listened to Jake Whalley before, but I thought he did a terrific job. He so successfully conveyed both Dominic's sarcasm and puzzled reaction to Tristan's unawareness of what was going on. Great characters, witty dialogue and full of a humour that made me laugh out loud. Both funny and entertaining. Highly recommended.

Not So Temporary.
MM, Employee/Boss, Contemporary, Comedy, Romance. Fantastic story with great characters, the narration was fantastic and I laughed so much while listening to their story. This is definitely a story I shall listen to again and again and I can't wait for the next story.

Great rom com
A great fun filled story with so much snarky banter which I loved. Tristan and Dom don’t appear to be a good match on paper but they are a joy together.
A great rom com with fantastic narration.

Grumpy vs sunshine, boss vs employee
I adored Dom and Tristan.
Their relationship was full of snarky banter, and ridiculously hilarious situations.
The chemistry between these two was instantaneous but started off on the wrong foot.
Jake Whalley did a great job narrating and conveying the right balance between comedy and realistic relationship.

Spoiled by the narration
I miss Joel Leslie! This narration was awful- it sounded like a Carry On film and completely spoiled the story. Gahhh so over the top it was farcical- the main MC sounded like someone doing an elderly female gossiping over a fence with rollers in her hair on the set of Coronation St.
