Flexible Geography and more

You do need to suspend logic and knowledge of geography amongst other things to enjoy this book.
The large distances covered on foot/bicycle or funeral hearse in France and Germany are frankly laughable given the mileage, fuel shortages, security checkpoints etc that were evident at the time.
And the RAF pilot who is suddenly able to fly a metric calibrated ie metres, kmh aircraft and easily refers to said measurement etc when UK was still VERY Imperial measurements ie "We need to keep the speed at 100kmh" not "WTF is the stall speed on an aircraft I've never flown and how fast is 100kmh?"
There's lots more but if you can ignore them you get a very traditional 'Boys Own" story.

Thrilling

An exciting story which didn’t spare the grim details of interrogation or bombing raids. I admit I fast forwarded to miss some of these out. Not for the sensitive but worth sticking with .

The final part of an excellent trilogy

Having listened to The Black Orchestra I had to listen to the rest of the trilogy. An excellent listen full of adventure and miraculous escapes -however improbable! Just one thing that grated slightly and puzzled me were the pronunciation of ‘Citroen’ and ‘Dún Laoghaire’ (‘Sitrow-en’ and ‘Dun-lair’) but for the most part a gripping listen.

Another provocative thriller from JJ Toner

Another provocative thriller from JJ Toner. Continuing the adventures of Kurt Muller, A Postcard from Hamburg explores both physical and psychological effects of war.

From the flattening of Hamburg to the individual choices that result in lives and souls changed or lost, this novel kept me gripped while listening, and thinking about the character’s situation ever since – which I’m sure will continue for some time.

Has the human race learned anything from history? After listening to this, I’m really not sure that we have. A must read.
