Summary

Following a scandalous affair, wayward Emma Devaney is sent in disgrace from her home in Ireland to Ryhope, where she will live with her widowed aunt, Bessie Brogan, and help run her pub. A gentle and enjoyable tale of a young woman making her way in the world in the 1920s. No easy feat. Beautifully told and expertly narrated.

Lovely family story

Nice gentle read that I wanted to keep going. Love the short chapters as I could pick it up when I only had a few minutes. If read a few of her books now and really enjoyed them all. Lovely story.
