Summary
From the New York Times bestselling author of the Pucked series comes a romantic comedy about instant attraction, second chances, and not-so-little white lies.
Sometimes I need an escape from the demands, the puck bunnies, and the notoriety that come with being an NHL team captain. I just want to be a normal guy for a few weeks. So when I leave Chicago for some peace and quiet, the last thing I expect is for a gorgeous woman to literally fall into my lap on a flight to Alaska. Even better, she has absolutely no idea who I am.
Lainey is the perfect escape from my life. My plan for seclusion becomes a monthlong sex fest punctuated with domestic bliss. But it ends just as abruptly as it began. When I’m called away on a family emergency, I realize too late that I have no way to contact Lainey.
A year later, a chance encounter throws Lainey and me together again. But I still have a lie hanging over my head, and Lainey’s keeping secrets of her own. With more than lust at stake, the truth may be our game changer.

Have to say I follow readers and Jason Clarke NEVER disappoints... think this is my 10th book of his narration ... But this is a sweet chic lit story - I liked it. But Jason .. hmmmm - looking for another with that VOICE

Good storyline but lacked passion
Although I enjoyed the over all story and direction of the book I felt that the main characters lacked passion and drive towards each other, there was no push and pull between them and the romantic sparks that where between them was rushed. Has that of been better then this would have been a 5 star for me

Super feel good romance
Is this second chance romance? Oh I think it is. When RJ meets the girl of his dreams whilst on vacation in Alaska, he ‘forgets’ to tell mention he is the team captain for Chicago’s NHL team, and, when they hastily part ways they have no way of contacting each other. Fast forward one year and RJ still can’t get Lainey out of his head, fortunate then that she’s relocated to Chicago. There’s just one problem, RJ’s non truth regarding his career, which causes Lainey to rethink the possibility of ‘more’. What a truly enjoyable, feel good romance, with two main characters that are nothing but good people through and through. A totally refreshing read. When I started this new series I didn’t realise it was a spin off from Helena Hunting’s Pucked series, so it was a wonderful surprise to touch base with the Pucked crew. A full five stars from me, couldn’t fault it, story, characters, narration (Jason Clarke is one of my most favourite narrators). I’ve already one-clicked book 2.

A cozy, warm story
I really liked the setting of this story set in Alaska and how the main couple started their relationship. I don't mind *spoiler* the pregnacy trope* so I quite enjoyed this story. Helena Hunting is one of my favorite authors so I am looking forward to read another book of hers!
