Summary
Editor reviews
Imagine a year in which you followed every rule of the Bible to the letter…. That means no lying, no coveting, and probably even some beard growing! In this episode of Live at the 92nd Street Y, Jacobs describes his experiences when he attempted to carry out just such a task. Insightful and incredibly entertaining, A.J. Jacobs exudes charm as he describes his many wacky experiences as he attempted to spend a year "Living Biblically". This performance is filled with insight and warnings about the dangers of reading too literally into scripture.

Great talk
Well researched, very funny, very interesting, great talk. Listen to it, religious or not, most likely not I guess, but you'll enjoy it.

Are the terms funny + Bible mutually exclusive?
Would you listen to A. J. Jacobs again? Why?
AA Jacobs is a truly funny man, but more importantly, he is a funny man who can make other people laugh. The two don't necessarily always go together!
What was one of the most memorable moments of A. J. Jacobs?
Difficult to choose, but raiding a poor unsuspecting pigeon's nest in order to cuddle its egg, was certainly right up there!
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Not much to dislike, so will ignore that question if it is quite ok... grin. What I liked is that the author doesn't take himself seriously at all; this just makes his stories even funnier.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely. Unfortunately life is not that kind, but I pretty much did it in less than a week.
Any additional comments?
Apart from being really funny, the author obviously found himself exploring serious themes in his own life. HIs power as author, is that he took me along on the journey for which I was grateful. Excellent read - or should I say listen!
