About this listen

My days are filled with perusing August’s sexy body, reading, and petting my villain cat.

Or they should be.

Of course I can’t just kick back and let the world burn around me because August “cares” about people and while I really… don’t, the idea of my one true love waltzing off into danger has me chasing after him, flinging bad guys as far as I can with my telekinesis.

This sounds easy enough—I can fling people in my sleep—until someone uses an illusion to make me believe the worst. I might be one of the most powerful supers alive, but when it’s impossible to tell what’s real and what’s not, lines begin to blur.

Along with my band of… misfits (I’m trying to be nice here), including a firestarter who seems to excel at burning the clothes off others (I’m never going to complain about a naked August), an excitable assassin who really needs to start asking before he shoots, and an illusionist who is disgustingly normal, we’re going to save the world.

I’m joking; I don’t care about saving the world. I just want to make sure no one touches my man.

Excellent narration by Michael Lesley as always

Michael Lesley brings all the colourful characters to life once again. Colourful characters that Alice Winters excels at creating. What a team!

Inconsistent narration

The new additions to the cast are fun and at complete odds with each other. Do I sense a romance brewing, though?

Genius

I ADORED A Hero In Hiding. It's a fabulous book and I loved Michael Lesley's narration. At first I wasn't sure about his "portrayal" of Deus, but then I was so drawn in that I desperately want - no NEED - Deus and Ellison's book!!🙏🙏🙏 Mind you quite frankly anything Alice writes, I'll read. She's that brilliant.

Fantastic characters new and old!

Great next adventure for landon and august. Delightful shenanigans balanced with character development and story pacing. Not too angst ridden but full of twists and turns! Well worth a listen!

Painful

As much as I love Alice Winters I found it very hard to get through this book . The story was really good as all her books are but it was ruined by the narrator I bought both books and after listening to book one I regretted buying book 2 but as 3 years had passed I hoped the narrator had improved but I was so wrong .
