Summary
Judith Johnson takes her younger brother and moves from Western Virginia to Kansas as a mail-order bride after their parents die. Her husband, although handsome and charming, turns out to be a womanizer and has a drinking problem. Judith is determined to make her marriage work, however, and she keeps telling herself her situation could be worse.
At least Calvin's older brother is stable and responsible, providing a home for them on the farm where they all live. But farm life on the prairie can be hard in 1850, and Calvin’s attitude makes the struggles even worse. Where will it all lead? Does God have a plan in all this?

Christian Historical Romance
There were some very difficult scenes in this story. Attempted rape is one of them. I wish that scene or anything close to it wasn't in the story, but it did show the character of a few men. This woman is the most forgiving woman. She's been giving a terrible marriage, but she focuses on the good and keeps on praying. it's a bit predictable because you know she gets her Happy Ever After, but how it comes to fruition was a bit unexpected.
There narration started out a bit rocky, but I think he became a lot more confident, and I got caught up in the book too much, to notice anything worth mentioning that he could improve upon!!
