Summary
The writing team that delivered the best-selling Faithful takes the readers to the ballpark again, and to a world beyond.
Dean Evers, an elderly widower, sits in front of the television with nothing better to do than waste his leftover evenings watching baseball. His adopted Florida baseball team, the Rays, is going strong. Suddenly, in a seat a few rows up beyond the batter, Evers sees the face of someone he knows from decades past, someone who shouldn't be at the ballgame, shouldn't even be on the planet. And so begins a parade of people from Evers's past, people he has wronged, all of them occupying that seat behind home plate. Until one day, he sees someone even closer to home....
A Face in the Crowd is a beautifully written story about grief, loneliness, and revenge.

Loved it
Actual story 5 *. It's a typical SK without rehashing anything, brilliant build up and loved the reveal at the end
but but but loses a star for being alone and therefore I'm not getting much listening time for my credit. I think this is so cheeky and I only got it because I was desperate for some new King.

I need more stars!!!!
This audiobook was fantastic! Five stars does not do it justice. The character development was brilliant, as well as showing the emotional impact the events had on the character. The narration was great too.

Good short story
Excellent short story from Stephen King & Stewart O`Nan (following on from their 2004 non-fiction novel 'Faithful') that features widower Dean Elvers who spends his nights watching Baseball on his large screen TV only to see the faces on people he has known (and are now no longer alive) amongst the spectators in the stadium.
This really is a treat for SK fans because although the story has a serious side it is interlaced with a fair amount of whit & humour.

A good short story
Loved the character development, it gave the plot the right twist and tone.
A small morsel to keep me in this cooperative stories King is doing often now.
