About this listen
All I needed was a date.
One measly date to go with me to my company’s Christmas party to show my ex—and current boss—that I was over him and had moved on. It wasn’t like they had to love me—heck, they didn’t even have to like me. They just had to show up.
When I got stood up on ANOTHER blind date, I was starting to panic until a gorgeous stranger swooped in and pretended to be my boyfriend. Luckily for me, my ex and his new girlfriend just happened to be there to see it.
Pretending to be in a relationship with the beautiful man wasn’t hard. In all honesty, it felt pretty natural. Soon, we had everyone convinced that we were the perfect couple. In fact, we were so good at pretending that we almost fell for it ourselves.
Everything about him felt too good to be true. And one thing that I’d learned quickly was never to trust a man who promised he could make your wishes come true, even if it was something as simple as a Christmas wish.
This is a steamy novella that will likely get you banned from the nice list if you listen to it. Intended for mature audiences that like their holiday romance with a little bit of spice.

Seasonal Cheer
I got this audiobook via a promo code at my request and this is my voluntary review.
Reasons not to date your boss number 1... when it goes to hell, you have to see them every day. Reasons not to date your boss number 2... you just might end up sharing an office Christmas party with his latest squeeze. After a work romance breakup Everly needs a date, except shes got the worst luck ever, and when her Ex and his biatchy girlfriend catch her being stood up on her latest date, a kind stranger Jared, jumps in to save the day. He agrees to be her fake boyfriend for the holidays. Soon both Everly and Jared realise they could be exactly the gift they both needed for Christmas. This was a lovely story, the chemistry between the main characters is enough to give you that holiday glow.
Narration by Mary Jane Meloy was good, but its a shame it wasn't done in duet for the male POVs.

Lovely Christmas Story
I won this book as part of a Christmas giveaway Samantha Baca was running and it doesn’t disappoint.
I dived in expecting a lovely palate cleanser and it is exactly what I needed.
The narration by Mary Jane Meloy is good. She has to change her voice chapter to chapter as the book is a duel point of view and she does this well. Unfortunately there was the odd word that I struggled to hear correctly with the accent and/or timbre of her voice at the time but that could be me coming from English voice actors to an American voice actor.
The story plot is good and written quite well. Again this could be because I’m jumping writing styles, but I noticed a lot of telling rather than showing to begin with. I’d have liked a little more detail about certain characters because they didn’t seem fully formed in areas. The story felt a little rushed and seemed short because of that.
Usually I put a spoiler on but for this one I think you should just jump in because all you need to know is in the description and if I put any more it’ll completely spoil it!
What I will say (spoilers ahead about content) it could possibly have used a few TWs on the book as it has dark overtones. For those sensitive readers out there (and those like me who use TWs/CWs as a shopping list) I will definitely say a TW for mentioning sa and one for almost being sa, and a CW for voyeurism/exhibitionism
