About this listen

From number-one New York Times best-selling author Stephanie Laurens comes the second title in a new Regency series, the Adventurers Quartet, featuring the adventures of four seafaring brothers and the women who capture their hearts.

Robert is the second-eldest Frobisher brother and is summoned to follow up on the secret mission started by his brother Declan. Arriving at the West African seaport settlement, he meets Aileen, who is determined to find her cousin who disappeared along with the other missing people Robert has been sent to find. Naturally, their paths cross. Robert knows how dangerous prying into this mystery is - other than Declan, everyone else who has investigated has disappeared, too - and he feels duty bound to dissuade Aileen from all further involvement. But she latches on to Robert and refuses to stay in safety when he goes deeper into the jungle.

Robert's reluctance to open up, to understand his own feelings, or even to engage with life itself beyond his ship is holding him back. But Aileen breaks through a crack in his armor. Will their connection strengthen and continue to evolve?

Another brilliant story

Another brilliant story of the Quartet series. I loved every second of it. Each series gets better and better than the other. I loved the Cynster series and The black Cobra even more because in all of that series all the heroes and heroines of the Cynster series and the Bastion Club, were included in every book, which I loved. And at the end of this story a couple of the Bastion club and one of the Black Cobra heroes were included also. I love it when main characters of pervious books/series are included in each book.
The narrator was very good, I like Steve West. Now on to the next one.
