so much healing in this book!

I listened to this book with my sister while we painted a bathroom and tiled in the kitchen. She is recently divorced from a narcissist and I have been married for almost 30 years.. It was really eye-opening to listen with her. The first chapter on abusive narcissism was great for her to hear and the co-dependency chapter was good for me. I did not know a lot about it but could identify some co-dependance tendencies in my marriage and later in the book were great tips to start to deal with all of this. The boundaries chapter was also challenging for both my sister and myself. How did we get so far off-balance? This book revealed much to me and I have implemented several of the suggested strategies with some success. Thanks for the hope that is contained in these pages.

Breathe A Sigh Of Relief

As someone who has dealt with toxic relationships, I am glad there is a book like this. Dealing with narcissism is a terrible feeling, especially if you are in a relationship, and many times, it is hard to know if you are stuck in that type of relationship. This audiobook can help you escape a problematic situation and establish your identity again, thus breaking you free.

Honest & Eye Opening!

Ember Bennett gives us seven steps to heal from an abusive, narcissistic relationship, and this is by far one of the best resources of its kind I've seen on the market. I suffered from a previous narcissist who gave me all the classic red flags: abuse, isolation, gaslighting, love bombing. I knew pretty quickly this behavior was unacceptable but ignored these signs because we had chemistry and because I knew she had a troubled past and we bonded over certain traumas.

As you can imagine, I wasn't emotionally or mentally equipped to "save" her and I failed to set proper boundaries early and our relationship became very toxic. When I would give up and walk away, she would change tactics and reel me back in and because I missed her I would come back and the cycle would repeat. I recommend this guide for absolutely everyone and I wish I had learned from something like this earlier. I'm now on the path to recovery. Highly Recommend!

Helpful Guide to Quit Toxic Relationship

Much needed advice

My partner has narcissistic tendencies, and only by listening to this audible and other research have I come to see the real truth behind my partner. As much as I have tried, I have been constantly trapped between love and hate but haven't had the strength to leave. This audible was really life-affirming that my partner is a narcissistic so-and-so but has given me the tools to help heal from the abuse I have had for the last 15 years. Chapter 1 for me explained my partner perfectly and I was engaged in all the chapters thereafter. A must-listen to chapter if you even have the slightest thought they may be a narcissist. I am currently at step 4, and it has given me hope that I can break free from the relationship and find a new life away from the constant abuse. Honestly, its soooo tiring being in my relationship and thanks to this audible I can take what it has taught me and start taking some positive action in my recovery from this relationship. Thank you! I highly recommend it to others in my situation.

In a new relationships it can be easy to discard the red flags that a partner may presents during this infatuation stage, but this book helps you identify the qualities of a narcissistic. Power is knowledge so this information is critical for anyone entering a new relationship. If you have recently exited an abusive relationship this book provides useful techniques and resources to help you overcome and regain your self-worth. Whether you are in an abusive relationships or just ended one, this book would be helpful in how to move forward and navigate future relationships so you don't make the same mistakes and repeat the trauma cycle that may be present. I also liked how the book presented in steps so you can jump to a section or step that matches where you are at in your relationship.
