Summary

Warning: This book contains graphic violence, sex, and explicit language. It also contains specific references to Heaven, Hell, angels, demons, and God Himself (and not necessarily what is considered true and accepted). Some of the content may be considered offensive to some listeners.

This is an introductory novella to the Keepers of Hell Series and does contain a cliffhanger.

Ash had promised himself into servitude with a demon when he was only a child. He spent his life killing for the demon, and he was good at his job. It was the only way to ensure the safety of his sister. When a brush with death brings Dr. Elizabeth Rone into his life, things change. The demon wants her dead. And for Ash, that's a deal-breaker.

He never killed an innocent soul. Not only was she innocent, but she made him feel things he had thought he was incapable of.

With a demon hell-bent on her demise, will Ash be her savior, or will she be the one saving him?

Enjoyed :)

This was an interesting novella, I do think I would have preferred it to be longer, but I got through it at one sitting in work, which is always a bonus.

Ash has had a pretty crappy life up to now, in saving his sister he promised his soul to the demon now aiding Ash's troubled life in killing off other demons so he can rule over hell.

Ash sister gets engaged and in tracking her new partner down Ash discovers a beautiful Doctor whom he starts to fall in love with.

Elizabeth is such a fab character, I really enjoyed her side of things, and Miles does a great job of portraying both male and female characters.

The deeper into love Ash gets and it does happen pretty quick the more he starts to hate his life and wants to protect his sister all the more and of course, the demon asks him to kill the new love in his life. Ash can't do it, I think I'd have liked some more inner turmoil here, especially over his sister and her life and soul. Going out walking the night was the perfect opportunity to do that, but the writer doesn't quite go as deep as I'd have liked.

I'm glad Elizabeth wants to get to know him more, the bad as well. And they make a fab couple.

The ending I was a bit unsure of, the battle with Shax the demon is good but then God, coming in, and asking him to lead hell was unexpected, giving him wings also unexpected. What did get me more upset was that after all he's been through and done for Elizabeth he just goes and gives her up. It is noble to want to protect the one you love, but uggh not like that. :(

I wonder if novella's like this as part of a series, really should just be the one book..

Nice job though and both writer and narrator do work well together, I think I might follow this series, not sure yet.
