Summary
A gripping friends-to-lovers-to-enemies dark romance.
New York City - not for the fainthearted or the sweetest of souls. The last thing I expected was to be back in this city, after all these years. And I definitely did not expect to be back in this house, where it all started. I have spent years avoiding this place and the cold, hard reality of what happened here.
But I have no choice. We are all quarantined together in this house. It took the end of the world for me to come back here and face him.
Milo Sinclair.
Once my legal guardian and savior in life. The person who saved me from drowning in loneliness. Who gave me everything I ever wanted. But then he took everything away from me. Plus interest. He broke me. He will not break me again.
This is a dark forbidden romance. It contains discussions about the pandemic, mental health issues, and mature new adults. It also contains dubious situations that some listeners might find offensive.
Dark romance is subjective. Some listeners have found this audiobook to be a light listen while others were sensitive to the material. Milo isn’t a normal romance hero, and some might not consider him a hero at all. So, please don’t listen to this if any of the above bothers you.
Quarantined is book one of the Quarantine series.

Holy Hotness
The story is so raw and emotion packed. Milo had to take on the responsibility of raising his siblings and Raven. Raven was neglected by the parents and Milo took on the guardianship. But when they come together, Milo loses it. lookin forward to the next book. This has been fantastic

Dark, forbidden, and oh so good!
Quarantined is a brilliantly written dark, forbidden, friends-to-lovers-to-enemies romance. The characters are fully-developed, multi-layered, with complex emotions and dynamics. The story is well-plotted with an intriguing premise, totally grabbing my attention, holding it from start to finish. It's the Covid19 pandemic in New York, and everyone is forced to quarantine. Raven is stuck with Milo Sinclair, her once legal guardian, hero and rescuer from neglectful parents. The same man who once gave her everything only to pull the rug right from under her, leaving her heartbroken, damaged, and shattered. This time around, Raven refuses to fall prey again to Milo. So far, Milo and Raven's journey is intense, gripping, raw, and dark, containing plenty of steam, drama, and unexpected twists. For some, there are trigger components, so be warned.
Excellent narration! Jill Cardoza and Jim Chapel did an outstanding job bringing the characters and story to life. They captured the nuances of the characters' personalities, emotions, and intense chemistry. Quarantined is very-well written story with interesting characters, one I'm highly recommending.

Dark & Gritty
This is the best of all worlds. The first book in the Quarantine Series, Drethi Anis begins our journey of Raven and Milo. Beginning in the present, everyone is coming home to quarantine. It’s the covid pandemic and Raven has to face her past head on. And our story begins, years earlier. Milo and Raven’s parents are best friends, living next door to each other. After leaving Raven to attain their success, Milo’s parents take her in. The relationship between the two begins as a father-daughter feel. Raven thinks the sun rises and set in Milo and as time goes by her begins to feel the same way. But giving into their feelings will cause a rift in the families. Will they take the chance? Of course, but after some time Raven realizes the consequences and pulls back. This is when the book begins to take a shift. A change is in the air and Milo’s obsession is dangerous and from his point of view, passionate. This first book is dark, gritty, turns tragic and even a little scary. From friends to lovers to enemies, their story is an addiction, needing to know what is going to happen, how Raven is going to live with her feelings and Milo’s intense infatuation. Dubious consent, the need to be loved, the passion of true love, extreme jealousy, it’s all there and the cliffhanger makes you want book 2 now! Invested and need to know more!
Jill Cardoza and Jim Chapel are our story tellers, and boy are they good! Their duet narration is full of all the intense feelings these two have. Cardoza goes from a young 13-year-old girl, and we hear her mature as she is forced to grow up. She has all the feels in her voice. Chapel has a bit of the crazy in his voice. He is the big brother that goes rogue, with an intensity that instills the fear in you. Perfect for this character. I can’t wait to see where they take these two.

Shocking!
Wow! Quarantined is a dark and intense forbidden romance. Milo and Raven tore my heart out with their brutally raw story. They are both victims of parental neglect and forced to grow up too soon. Did this alter their mental capabilities, oh most definitely. I was shocked as I listened to their tragic story. As soon as I thought I had things figured out, nope another surprise. I am going straight to get the next book. I just have to know what happens next.

Forbidden/Taboo
This storyline could definitely be a trigger for many people so it's not for everyone. I love dark romance and have none of those triggers so I found it gripping and engaging. I liked Milo but found him as confusing as Raven did. He went from good guy to bad guy in an instant. It was like someone kept flipping his on/off switch. Poor Raven was nice and very likable but was let down by those that loved her most. Quarantined is not a standalone and does end in a cliffhanger. I can't wait to listen to the next book in the series. If you like dark romance that is on the light side of dark, then I highly recommend this book.
Both Jill Cardoza and Jim Chapel are new-to-me narrators. They both put a lot of emotion into these characters and did a great job bringing this story to life with their duet narration. At first I felt like Jim maybe put too much emotion into Milo because he often made him sound like a crazed maniac, and I didn't feel like he was until his actions proved otherwise.

Dark Forbidden Romance
Quarantined by Drethi Anis is a dark forbidden romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Jill Cardoza and Jim Chapel. This is the first book in the Quarantine series.
This is the first book of Drethi's that I have read and it won't be my last. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. The relationship between Raven and Milo will take you on an emotional rollercoaster.
I can't wait to dive into the next book Isolation so I can get more of their story.
Jill and Jim did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, forbidden romances, or friends to lovers to enemies romances.
