Brilliant Comedy from an outstanding and creative Nina!
Honestly when you listen to this you’ll grin from ear to ear and laugh out loud …all the characters are so funny and likeable at the same time … good sports in the audience too .. that made it even funnier !
I saw Nina and Monkey live at the Edinburgh Festival… such a great show !! How she makes the characters work whilst keeping the show going is mesmerising and very clever !! Go Nina ! Audible please bring more similar comedy into our ears !!! X

Doesn't quite work as audio only
Nina Conti is a fantastic ventriloquist, her set and characters are wonderful and the whole show is extremely funny, so this is definitely worth a listen. She is so talented! However, ventriloquism is a visual medium and therefore doesn't work in an audio only format. I ended up Googling to find out what the puppets looked like and what visual queues the audience was laughing at. This is especially true when Nina is interacting with audience members who are assisting her. There is a whole section involving Stefan the Polish man Nina had a crush on, and audience member Steven who is... doing something. I have no idea what. Another part involves audience member Fran who becomes a puppet herself. I only know that Nina put a mask on her that she could control the mouthpiece of by looking it up. This content is definitely worth consuming, but not via Audible. Go and watch the DVD for the full (and far less confusing) experience.
