Summary

‘Tender, funny and romantic’ Marie Claire

She has just two weeks. Two weeks to teach him how to fall in love – with his own life.

Adam Basil and Christine Rose are thrown together late one night, when Christine is crossing the Ha'penny Bridge in Dublin. Adam is there, poised, threatening to jump.

Adam is desperate – but Christine makes a crazy deal with him. His 35th birthday is looming and she bets him that before then she can show him life is worth living .

Despite her determination, Christine knows what a dangerous promise she's made. Against the ticking of the clock, the two of them embark on wild escapades, grand romantic gestures and some unlikely late-night outings. Slowly, Christine thinks Adam is starting to fall back in love with his life. But is that all that's happening… ?

A novel to make you laugh, cry and appreciate life, this is Cecelia Ahern at her thoughtful and surprising best.

Thoughtful and insightful

I loved the insights this book shares. The issues of depression and suicide were handled sensitivity and in an informed way. Lovely story and well narrated.

100% pure pleasure

I was going to describe this book as a guilty pleasure but decided against it. After all why should anybody feel guilty for enjoying such a lovely heartwarming story? Cecelia Ahern is a skilled storyteller who has dealt with a difficult subject with compassion and an appropriate level of humour. The story has some interesting twists and turns and kept me riveted to the end. The heroine is a delight and when her full story was revealed I had a genuine lump in my throat. This is screaming to be made into a film but in the meantime I thoroughly recommend this audiobook and the beautiful narration by Aoife McMahon.

Very unexpected in a good way

I laughed out loud on many occasions, shed tears, and celebrated with the characters along the way. Great book and loved the narrator, she really made the book come alive.

Heartfelt and Deep

This story deals with really sensitive issues but in as positive a way as you can get. You fall in love with the characters and are moved by the outcome. Really lovely read.

Ripe for romcom film adaptation.

Great narration. An easy listen with an emotional core.
Enough well written characters to hold interest in a comfortingly predictable plot at times for main characters. A healthy exploration of current views of mental health, of the toll on this by unscrupulous capitalists plus abuse of social media was a plus for me too.
