Fantastical Fantasy 4.5⭐
I adore Alice's retellings! This one is strange and yet very sëxxxxy!! I would love more of these three and what happens in Wonderland! It's a hard book to describe without using keywords zon/Aud dislikes😂😂 Alice is sweet and lovely, Chesh is the scheming villain who is still likable, and then there is Caterpillar, whose pheromones and words make everyone melt! lol I liked how I never knew what was going to happen, and I practically read/listened in one sitting!
The narrators did a great job! Maeve is marvelous! Her accents and ability to do the male voices were superb! I also loved Caterpillar’s narrator! His smooth, deep voice was what I imagined. Then there was Chesh. The narrator was an expressive character actor but he sounded like a sleazy creep! Which the character was, but it was difficult to enjoy his spicy/sincere scenes with that voice😂

A Monster Retelling Of Alice In Wonderland
Hookah Smoking Caterpillar by Beatrix Hollow is a monster retelling of Alice in Wonderland that I listened to on audio narrated by Curt Bonnem, Lance West, and Maeve York.
I love Beatrix's books! I can't help but binge them in one sitting. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Alice, Shaheen, and Cheshire. I loved getting all of their points of views throughout the book.
Curt, Lance, and Maeve did an amazing job on the narration. They really brought the story to life for me. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you're looking for a retelling romance, monster romance, menage romance, or fantasy romance.

This is a very intriguing idea. With a very sexy retelling of Alice in Wonderland it’s very spicy. I’m still unsure how I feel about sweet little Alice being a total sex bomb. It’s very unique. A great performance.

Loved Cheshire’s voice
Great story but sounded odd when the fmc did the mmcs voices and vice versa. Other than that an easy one to mum in and out of

Very different yet compelling
I highly enjoyed the performance by the narrators. They gave a fun spin to the story. The story was a little hard to get into, but sticking it out, it was cool. Very different and sometimes confusing, but still entertaining.

Madness all around!
Welcome to the madhouse! Take a stumble into Wonderland with all it's mad twists and turns. With a menu/trigger warning list long as your arm, this little nugget of a book sucks you right in with Alice's story and all the fun players in Wonderland - Cheshire Cat, Caterpillar, Mad Hatter and more. This world is dark, twisted, erotic to the max and completely bonkers and is perfectly narrated to bring it even more to life. I love it!

A very mad surprise
This was absolutely bonkers in a very fun way! I feel like I knew what to expect from this author but I couldn't begin to imagine what was in store for me. A mix of monster romance and pnr realism, this spin on Alice was full of steam and shock factor surprises. We do end up with some revelations leading to a HFN/HEA, but the story leaves a lot of opportunity for more stories we will hopefully get in the future.
