After spending the vast majority of my life lonely, I came to this town to find answers about my mother, and instead, stumbled upon a secret society full of monsters I never knew existed outside of dark tales.
Now I've built a sanctuary, gotten in the middle of an ages-old feud between various monster factions, and somehow ended up with an ancient, queen-like tyrant targeting me, because my life sucks sometimes.
For now, hoping for the best is all I have. Well, I guess that's a lie too. Hope's not all I have. I also have a Van Helsing, who can slay a small army without wrinkling his shirt. Then there's a Morpheous, who can toy with my mind in ways I never imagined. I've got a wolf, who makes it a goal to keep me human-ish. And there's a vampire, who enjoys killing and stabbing.
Ancient alphas, old vendettas, super-complicated histories, mass-death threats, and a lot of personal baggage. That's become a Tuesday morning coffee break to me by now. Like I said, my life sucks sometimes.

Must read!
Very long book. Was worried it would go stale and lose the plot. But nope, the story kept me guessing and o'ing and laughing. Ana and her antics, her fake fly out when cars stop too suddenly. Her playing with...well you will get there if you read it. Even the smutty bits were more detailed, better and enough to feel some heat. But I have to admit, the smut is probably just right. So it doesn't take away from the rest of the story.
I'm gonna miss violets world.
But....Jasper.....hmmm I think there may be more to come!

Fast became my favourite series
I don't often leave reviews but had to for this. Anna you may actually be my favourite literary character ever. You've made me choke from laughing out loud. You really are the primary character! closely followed by Arian, I loved his crazy.
I'm starting the series again immediately, it was that good

Loved them all!!!
I loved all the books, some moments made me laugh so much ..once i started the first one..i just couldn't stop until i finished them all.. i was addicted:) The narrators are just the cherry on top:) .I listened to all books from this writer..all very good

hidden gem of a series
great story great narration bit of a disappointing end but overall very enjoyable listen. will definately be purchasing more of this authors work.

Ok
The stories momentum takes a detour in Book 6. Anna's true identity plays out like a Scooby Doo reveal, it's underwhelming and farcical.
I really like the characters, so I'm happy to have finished their story, but my enjoyment of book 6 is less than the previous books, it's always a risk getting sucked into a multiple book story.
