Summary
After Maya is turned into a vampire against her will, vampire and Scanguards bodyguard Gabriel is charged with protecting her and finding her attacker.
Gabriel has never guarded a body as perfect as Maya's. Moreover, Maya's enticing blend of vulnerability and strength is difficult to resist. Yet resist he must. Even as the sexual tension between them rises and the rogue vampire closes in on them, Gabriel refuses to give in to his desire. Despite the intimacies they share, Gabriel fears that if he ever reveals himself fully to her, Maya will react like other women have, running from him, and calling him a monster, a freak, a creature not worth her love.
Will Maya prove to be the one female who cherishes all that Gabriel is?
Any fan of J. R. Ward, Kresley Cole, and Lara Adrian will love Gabriel's Mate!

It's ok if your bored.
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Not really I found the story rather boring and not enough thought (plot wise) had gone into it. I liked Gabriel as a character but not much more.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
Much more research for the plot it was rather lame and I had guessed who was the culprit way before it was revealed.
Which character – as performed by Kevin Foley – was your favourite?
Gabriel- Kevin Foley is a very good narrator, lovely speaking voice and to be quite honest it's the only reason I listened to the end of the book!
If this book were a film would you go see it?
If it was taken directly from the book no way! With some work put into it then probably.
Any additional comments?
I shall not be buying the rest of the series although I will look for books read by Kevin in the future.
