Summary
Intense. Exclusive. Invitation only. Do you have what it takes to be a pleasure sub?
Masters Club, a private BDSM venue for serious players, is perfect for Dom Cameron Lord, who gives the kink lifestyle everything he’s got - except his heart… When he witnesses a lovely sub girl enduring a botched scene at a NYC public club, he sees her potential. She’ll make an excellent addition to the Masters Club. But as he steps closer, he recognizes her…and all bets should have been off.
Aspiring young attorney Jess Cooper gets her release at the BDSM clubs around town, where she enjoys letting her inner sub fly. There’s nothing better than to be naked and bound, a stranger in black leather behind her wielding a whip. It’s the perfect anonymous relief from a stressful workweek. Until her worlds collide when Mr. Lord, the super sexy partner at her firm, watches her from the sidelines.
Any hope that he hadn’t recognized her with her clothes off vanishes the very next day at the office. No, he doesn’t say a word about what he saw. His invitation says it all…
At His Mercy is the first book in the Masters Club Series. Though each novel can be listened to as a stand-alone, ,consuming the series in order will enhance your experience.
If you enjoy powerful alpha men who aren’t afraid to take what they want, but give so much in return to the women they fall for, then this series is for you!

Dominating possession
This is the first time I've bought and read a book by Claire Thompson. As a first, I don't think I could've chosen a better one, although it was recommended by Kindle as a book chosen through my prior reading history.
It's beauty in all it's complexities.
Based on a Dominant, Master Cameron, recognising a young associate lawyer who works for the same firm as himself, and the stunning sub girl, Jess the aforementioned lawyer.
He comes across her while In a BDSM play party, being whipped by a negligent and incapable Dom, who blames her for his ineptitude while whipping her. When she uses her safe-word to end the scene, he refuses to listen, stating the scene will end when he says it will. Thankfully others who were watching step in and forces the issue.
It's once she's released and turns around, that their eyes meet each other. Instantly recognising each other, both hope the other didn't recognise them, albeit less likely with Cameron as he's a partner in the firm they both work at.
The following day, Cameron sends an invite for Jess to "audition" at an exclusive club, as a "pleasure sub," for the enjoyment of all of the Master's, whenever they want to "scene" with her.
When she auditions, she is seriously put through her paces, exacting a harsh caning to gauge her ability to take "erotic pain." Once she's accepted into the highly exclusive club, Cameron becomes her mentor. And this is where things get tricky between the two, as not only colleagues within their vanilla jobs, but also as a Master and Pleasure Sub.
Trust me when I say, from here on out, things get really hot 🔥🔥 Not only between the two, but also the other Masters who scene with Jess. There's a lot, and I mean a looooot, of different erotic scenes played out within these pages and they'll leave you panting for more!!
Along with the book, there's also the audio, narrated by Vanessa Rivers. This is also the first audio I've listened to while reading, with Me Rivers and I did enjoy it.
She doesn't have a huge range of voices, many sounding the exact same, but it's delivered in a easy and enjoyable way. Plus she actually does a great British accent and that's always a huge plus for me.
There is nothing worse than a character who's British and the narrator just does a poor performance of it. Some sound like a cross between an Australian/Irish/Welsh person and it's very off putting!! Thankfully Ms. Rivers London accent was on point, definitely outstanding.
So do I recommend, absolutely on both the book and the audio, then all you have to do is sit back and enjoy both the book and the performance. 😎😉
