Summary
Falling in love shouldn't be against the law, but it is on the island of Alzabreah, where a high priestess genetically engineers men to be nothing more than love slaves. When a disciple, Mavra, breaks the rules and falls in love with one of the drones, she soon discovers the high priestess has committed murder to cover illegal genetic experiments. Now Mavra must fight for their lives.

Unique but good
It's always fascinating to read or listen to erotica written by a man. The techno sci-fi element makes the premises for the plot unique. The storyline is well-written, and the characters are intriguing. Michelle Jones's narration is too fast, her pace needs to be slowed down a bit.

For lovers of erotic fiction.
This is rather hard for me to review as I am not a lover of this genre, and this fact made for difficult listening. The narration was pleasant enough but not enough to hold my attention.
All that aside, those who are lovers of erotic fiction with a story will love it I'm sure.

This one makes you think about technology. I think this will be the future for some. Sexbots, who knew?!? Good storyline, great narration.

Genetic Manipulation Gone Wild
Do you enjoy computer sci-fi inter-dimensional transitions with genetic editing and new beings?
This isn't your regular erotica-lust book, sure it has some classic erotic fiction ideas floating about (like men only being there to satisfy women), but it also has some depth to it as well.
The speed of the narration was a little off putting for me. From the initial erotica scene, the narration doesn't slow down. That same excitement in the voice was used throughout most the book, and for me it felt like she was always ready for the next encounter at any moment. Near the end, where the backstory is filled, in does it get a better though.
It did mean that when those erotica moments did come, they didn't feel exciting as they should have been. It's a bit of shame as well. The erotic part was at the forefront of this book. It throws you head first into the sexual acts as soon as you start listening. Unfortunately, the main storyline was kind of lost because of it, at least for me.
The book does have a good storyline to it, even if it does take a while for the story to build. Some questions are answered, and at the end I was hoping the story would have unfolded a little more than it did. I would have preferred if the backstory was laid out at the start of the book, but this is an erotica book after-all.
Overall, not too smutty erotica story set in a techno sci-fi backdrop. Worth listening to, but do check the audio preview to see if you can get on with the narration style.

Thought Provoking
Gary as an author tends to take a relatively simple or known subject and finds a way to shine it in a new light by centring the issue around characters you invest in and relate to. Alzabreah’s Garden is no different.
I have to point out too, the book can be quite graphic and steamy when it comes to parts of a sexual nature but those parts are well-written. I often find some authors can make such a passionate act sound rather dull as they struggle to paint a compelling picture. Either that, or it becomes too graphic and the wording takes you out of the moment completely. It can be hard to write such scenes while toeing the line and getting it right - but I think Gary did well with such scenes while keeping it tasteful.
Michelle as the narrator did a fantastic job, very easy to listen to and a very nice voice for story telling.

Made me think
A very interesting story, with some hot scenes. Only women live on the island, and the only males are male drones created for the women's pleasures.
The character Alzabreah is in charge , and watches all closely as no feelings are permitted between the two.
Mavra who is a strong woman finds herself falling in love with Thorpleen, one of the drones and wants him to love her back. Impossible, they are not programmed for these emotions. But like all good stories there is a twist and a turn. Could the drones start to have feelings??
