About this listen
Even when you've given up on love, it will still rescue you...
Margot and Will cross paths at the local dog rescue centre where - after a series of misunderstandings and a lot of consternation - they agree to foster Blossom (a gentle Staffy with a giant head, soft, floppy ears and kohl-rimmed brown eyes) together: one week on, one week off.
Margot and Will don't get off to the best of starts: he thinks Margot is demanding and needy and Just So Much. And she thinks Will is emotionally unavailable, slightly brittle and very mistrustful. They're both right. But the more they bicker, the worse Blossom behaves, and they realise they have to form some sort of truce in order to "co-pawrent" her together.
It's almost as if Blossom has plans of her own . . .

Some of t he Narration very irritating
I persevered with this despite the breathy delivery by the lady narrator, the story was disappointing

Absolutely predictable story, but still very enjoyable
Blossom the staffy is the heroine of this story, which centres around the rather improbable idea of two new owners wanting to rescue her at the same time, and agreeing to ‘co-pawrent’ her. The ups and downs of caring for her, reveal two people with pasts that are holding them back from their future together. A light, enjoyable listen, once I got used to the rather odd narration style used by both narrators.

Nice romcom
Not usually a fan of romcoms but needed a bit of light relief. As a dog owner I could relate and really enjoyed it. The only thing that I didn't really like was Margo's reader read every line like it was a food advert for M&S so some of Margo's humour was lost.

Two people. One dog.
Funny moments and a happy ending. Light reading at its best. I greatly enjoyed this book.

Great story
I loved the storyline, it’s sweet, lovely, a great easy listen. I enjoyed the Male narrator’s performance but I found the lady narrator quite annoying, affected and a bit ridiculous. I nearly returned the book, but the good story kept me interested. Next time I’d rather read it than listen to it.

Sweet story but shame about female narrator
Enjoying this light hearted book and really enjoy the male narrator but finding the female narrator to be somewhat too "breathy" for my personal taste

Too slow and doggy focused for too many chapters
On the strength of past books by this author and the reviews I bought this.
I like dogs, I like romances, happy endings and easy listens where suffering isn’t so acutely or viscerally drawn it makes me clench. So this book, though I gave up before the end, fulfils the criteria.
But whilst the tale of the rescue dog learning to trust again was touching the canine centric focus and the achingly slow pace just got too much to continue. I have a feeling it would have improved and the pace picked up but, for me, there were just too many chapters before that happened.
However, take my review with a pinch of salt as I was in excruciating agony when listening to this - and during the days and nights this particular pain symptom rages, all I need is the best possible absorption from a book that plays days and most of the nights when the pain surges further. Easy listening this was and it was warm but just too slow.
