About this listen
Almost Boyfriend Material
Charley Hughes loves Scar. He doesn’t give a damn that they’re bikers; he wants a real relationship with Scar, in every sense of the word. Their romance didn’t have a balanced beginning since they met in prison. Now that they’re both out and established in the world, all Charley wants is for Scar to do three things: Love him, stay out of jail, and listen when Charley speaks. Scar has a lot of trouble with that last request—especially when they’re having a fight.
Unable to Compromise
Colton “Scar” Hebb has no idea how to solve a disagreement in any way that requires words. Prison toughened him up, maybe too much. Scar tries something he’s not ready for with Charley, then clams up afterward, which causes pain for both men.
Life Beyond Prison
Scar won’t talk about what is bothering him, and Charley is frustrated and worried. If Scar can’t learn to move past the man he had to be to stay safe behind bars, he might lose his life with Charley and all the new experiences he wants to share with him. Luckily they’re in the Kings of Men MC, and their biker brothers see the trouble they’re in. With a little good advice from King, chances are things will work out—assuming Scar can get comfortable opening up to Charley.

Back to New Gothenburg...
A great companion novella for more of King's men although I did feel like I was behind or missing something in the story, like I'd come in part way through.
Narration was good in terms of performance, voices and tones but there were weird "add in" kissing sound effects that for me were a little off putting and jarring in the flow of the story. There were also climax sound effects which I felt weren't needed, it's better to leave things to the imagination... although I did like Scar's gravely voice 😜

Try love conquers big manly egos:)
Oddly enough this a sweet biker book- in the world of New Gothenburg. A lot of these books are set in a rough environment - which usually also is the case for King’s MC. Scar is big and burly and a man’s man and is suddenly faced with some decisions about what that entails, and how his relationship with Fish is going to grow. It’s a great book with lots of humor, true feelings and interesting storyline.

Yass
This is a story that I really enjoy. Scar and Charlie are 2 or my favourite guys in the Kings of Men MC. It took me a while to get used to the narrator, it was mainly Scar’s voice that took a bit of getting used to. I really enjoyed the added ‘effects’ like the phone ringing or texting etc. Honestly, these guys make me laugh, just s bunch of guys being dudes 😂

Surprisingly sweet and tender
Scar and Charley are absolutely beautiful together.
Charley knows what he wants and that Scar.
Unfortunately for Charley, Scar is not the best at communicating and is terrified of his feelings for him.
This almost leads to a disastrous situation but thankfully Scar learns to confide in Charley and grows emotionally by leaps and bounds.
I enjoyed getting to see some of the others in the MC again and of course there is always a humorous thread running throughout that had me laughing out loud.
Andrew Ladd did a wonderful job narrating and bringing the story to life.
