About this listen

Previously published as Just Thoughts…On Addiction & Recovery and Addiction Is Not a Drug by Ralph Solli Jr.

Do You Stress Yourself Out?

Complicate things?

Stress over other people? Stress out other people?

And how do you deal with stress?

Through distraction? Addiction?

I can relate.

A wound-up existence led me down the path to addiction, seeking relief in drugs. Until they didn't work anymore….

Now what?

After years of substance abuse, I found recovery.

Told "addiction is not a drug", recovery wouldn't be simply "staying clean" from chemicals.

Self-awareness was needed—about my negative attitudes and behaviors, beyond using drugs.

Ironically, I've learned most about myself through listening to other people—their experiences.

And then reaching difficult yet life-changing realizations of my own, such as: "You’re Not That Important—So You Can Relax Now."

Throughout recovery, I'd write the gist of conversations on scraps of paper for later reference.

The book is a compilation of such discussions—everyday real "life" situations, relatable to anyone, whether they struggle with addiction or not: low self-esteem; worry; anxiety; romantic relationships; guilt; self-centeredness; judgmentalism; not letting go; control; putting up a front; dealing with 'other people'; many more.

I Invite You Into These 250 Conversations.

So you may live a less stressed life.
